Crown reduction & shaping
Reductions of 10-30% of the canopy to reduce wind sail, increase light and rebalance lopsided trees. Cuts made to live growth points so the tree heals cleanly — no topping, ever. Common candidates in Ayrshire gardens: sycamore, ash, beech, oak and Norway maple.
Crown lifting & thinning
Removal of lower limbs to clear paths, driveways and lawns (typically to 2.4m over lawn, 5.2m over a road). Thinning removes selective inner branches to let light through without changing the tree's outline.
Dismantles & sectional fells
Where a tree can't be felled in one piece — tight gardens, conservatories, sheds, overhead wires — we climb and rig down section by section. Rigging gear rated to 5T, controlled lowering, no impact on lawn.
Stump grinding
Grind to 200-300mm below ground level so you can re-turf, plant or pave straight over. We grind stumps from 100mm up to 1.2m diameter in a single visit.
Hedge reductions & laying
Conifer (Leylandii, Thuja) and broadleaf hedge reductions over 4m, including laying-back of overgrown garden hedges. Note: Leylandii doesn't regenerate from brown wood — we'll be honest about how hard you can go.
Storm damage & emergency call-outs
Same-day response across Ayrshire for fallen, split or hung-up trees. We make safe first (drop zones, road closures liaised with council if needed) then complete the full removal and clean-down.
Residential vs commercial
For commercial sites, schools, holiday parks and rental portfolios we provide RAMS (risk assessment & method statement), proof of insurance and chainsaw tickets, and dated post-works reports for your file.
